Spoon was started by the Suteeluxnaporn family from Bangkok, Thailand. Mom inspired the core menu, Chef Aim perfected it, Sujaree runs the front house, and Wind the youngest, manages the bar. It has been a family passion since ‘05 to create an experience that celebrates good food, and a comfortable, yet elegant atmosphere.

It all began with Spoon Westside at 768 Marietta Street at the historic Roxy Hotel Loft building in what used to be Thelma’s soul food kitchen. Starting bare bones in 2005 the restaurant was built out over time as did the clientelle. Now it serves a bustling lunchtime crowd and slows down at dinner for a more sit-down feel with a mix of couples, parties, locals, and out-of-town travelers. The one thing that hasn’t changed is the simple authentic Thai menu and focus on neighborhood style service.

Our recently opened sister restaurant, Spoon Eastside brings authentic Thai cuisine to East Atlanta’s mix of neighboorhoods and culture. Spoon Eastside is located at 749 Moreland Ave., Suite C105, in the Ormewood Shopping Center just south of I-20. This is the spot where many walk down for a family dinner or bring their best of friends for to sit on the patio or chat with Wind at the bar.

We hope you come visit us, Sujaree, Aim, Wind, and Mom.
